Cyn VO: Last week on In Like Cyn, Chris Varaste and I were downtown Los Angeles, attending the Emmy Awards.
Cyn: How deep is your love…?
Cyn: Hello, hello and welcome to another episode of In Like Cyn.
Cyn: Yeah!
SE (singing): Wha – wha – what? Uhhh – uhhh – uhhhh, yeah. Everything I do is brand new I must continue.

Cyn VO: We were hanging out at the Marriot waiting for the red carpet to start.

Cyn: Okay we are heading over to the red carpet now. We’re so close now. And I’ve run into a couple of old friends.
TITLE: Melissa L McCullough and AJ Away, old friends of mine
MM: Hi.
AJ: Yeah.
Cyn: I suddenly feel like I have a cheering section.
MM: Yeah alright, Cynthia.
AJ: Red Carpet, baby!
MM: Wooo!
AJ: Ready for the red carpet, baby.
Cyn: I’ve known AJ since he was a little kid, so –
CUT
Cyn: If Jon Hamm doesn’t win – it’s robbery!
CUT
Cyn: So have you guys ever been to the beginning of the red carpet, before?
AJ: No.
MM: No, we haven’t. But we’re walking in with you, baby.
AW: I’m pretty excited.
MM: Unfortunately, we’re not going to be able to stay with you, but ah this has been fun. We love you. You’re great.
AJ: 2015. Red Carpet, baby.
MM: That’s right.
Cyn: Yay!
MM: We’re just walking with you.
Cyn: I feel fierce. I feel fierce right now, whew!

Cyn: You look gorgeous! Gorgeous!
AJ: This is cool you’re gonna have a blast.

Cyn: I’ve got my ticket. I’m heading in. I’m at the area – they’re going to check my purse. Yaya. I’ve got my tix.
Cyn VO: The Emmy Award is given in recognition of excellence in the television industry. What I’m attending are the premiere Primetime Emmys.
Cyn VO: The first Emmy Ceremony was presented on January 25, 1949 at the Hollywood Atheletic Club.
TITLE: Patricia Veneman, writer.
Cyn VO: The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences or ATAS, established the Annual Emmy Awards as part of an image-building and public relation opportunity.
Cyn VO: Okay, so apparently I should have read the documentation better… No selfie sticks allowed.
SG: Ma’am unfortunately there’s no selfie sticks allowed in the building.
Cyn: So we’re inside. Got my ticket. Walking on the red carpet.
MUSIC BREAK
Cyn: I need to find my friends. We’re here. We’re here at the venue! It starts in an hour. So the red carpet is the three hours before. Sometimes you can see all of it on television, some times you only get pieces of it.
Cyn VO: The Emmy statuette, depicting a winged woman holding an atom, was designed by TV engineer Louis McManus who used his wife as a model.
Cyn: Everywhere you go you’re taking selfies.
MUSIC BREAK
Cyn: Let’s look.
Cyn: And it’s Jennifer!
TITLE: Jennifer Gable, actress / comedian.
Cyn VO: And then it was time to take our seats, the show was about to begin.
Cyn: Okay so I just got here into the arena. And um – over here on a big screen they’re showing the Dallas Cowboys kicking the Eagle’s ass!

Cyn: Down there Jon Hamm is about to win an Emmy. We’re about to enjoy the 67th Annual Emmy Awards.
Cyn: Okay right now they’re starting the show. We’re all here let’s start the show!
