Cyn: Hello, hello and welcome to another episode of In Like Cyn.
MUSIC BREAK
Cyn: And today I am headed out to the YouTube Studios. There comes a time in every young YouTuber’s life when this happens – you get to go to the studio for the first time.

Cyn: So – let’s go to YouTube. Let’s go, let’s go to YouTube. Let’s go, let’s go to YouTube. Let’s go to YouTube. Yeah.
Cyn VO: We headed to the west side of LA, near Playa Vista, Marina del Rey and Westchester adjacent to a fast growing area off Jefferson Boulevard. This real estate is getting snapped up by Tech companies.
Cyn: We’re here at the YouTube studios I’m so excited.
CUT
Cyn: So everybody, I’m here. I’m at the YouTube Studios, this is my first time here. I’m so excited. Yeah, we’re going to YouTube.

Cyn: So we’re heading in. 12422 West Bluff Creek Drive.
Cyn VO: YouTube and the PGA New Media Council invite you to the first YouTube/PGA mixer. In order to encourage video makers to develop loyal engaged audiences Google built this space, housed in a 41,000 square foot aircraft hangar once owned by Howard Hughes.
Cyn VO: A shiny red Hughes 269A helicopter is YouTube’s lawn ornament. Visitors entering YouTube Space LA face a giant video wall. For this event hashtag #YouTubeSpaceLA on your pix or video and your post appeared for the crowd.
Cyn: Hey what’s up everybody. Welcome back to In Like Cyn. So all around me, everywhere I look there are soundstages to film. Subscribe to my channel. Cyn VO: Paige McKenzie was signing copies of The Haunting of Sunshine Girl.
Cyn OS: So I got myself a book. She’s signing books over here. And over here we have like the real studios. And over there is an actual studio space where they have built – it’s all set up – and it looks like CBGB’s in New York.
Cyn: Hey what’s up everybody! So I’m here, I’m at YouTube! Look behind me. Oh my God! YouTube studios! Fuck yeah!
Cyn VO: To produce at YouTube Space LA you must have 10,000 subscribers, be at least 18 years old, attend an “unlock the space” orientation, and have no current copyright or Terms of Service strikes on your qualifying channel. Straight from their own website: “The flagship location for YouTube Space is designed especially for creators to produce video content, learn new skills, and collaborate with the YouTube creative community.”
Cyn: They have spaces in Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, New York and Sao Paulo. Each stage has a screen that displays the equipment list it comes with, it shows you some videos made on this stage, and provides a live shot into the space. Stage 2 was dark – it’s hard to see inside.
Cyn: Hello everybody!

Cyn: Some day soon we’re gonna be filming in there.

Cyn: The Haunting of the Sunshine Girl. Oh, look! CBGB’s motherfuckas!
Cyn VO: When CBGB closed in 2006, owner Hilly Kristal and club talent booker Louise Staley carefully dismantled the interior and have had it in storage ever since. Hilly wanted them to live on. He saved them for exactly this type of occasion. You can find parts of the original famed New York club walls, cash register and phone booth on display at YouTube Space New York and YouTube Space LA.

Cyn: The red helicopter! Party’s starting to wind down a little.
