“Welcome to a musical adventure as we travel to the mystical land known as the Valley to see some toe-tapping seriously good music by a popular LA based band The LA Hootenanny. Enjoy this treat for your ears.”
In Like Cyn – Season 1 Episode 21
The LA Hootenanny
by Robert Gold
In the kick-ass twenty-first episode of In Like Cyn accomplished screenwriter Cynthia Troyer continues her latest project. An awesome new selfie reality show on YouTube channel The Comedy Multiverse, chronicling an epic day in the life of one of Hollywood’s next rising filmmakers. In a dazzling twenty first installment show host Cynthia Troyer takes us to Federal Bar to see – The LA Hootenanny a premiere rock country band in Los Angeles, playing a great mix of covers and original songs.
How did this gang of hootenannies come together? Well what started as a bunch of friends playing music in a garage as a weekend hobby every weekend has now become the most riveting experience in the San Fernando Valley. These are the kinds of guys you’d expect to meet in some dive bar in a small Midwestern town or maybe a trailer park for that matter. Put a bluegrass roots festival on hyper drive and you may come close to the unforgettable Hootenanny experience. These boys have taken a lot of inspiration and influence from a number of fellow alternative country bands including Huntsville, Waldin’-N-Wailin’, The Two Dollar Bills and The Pilbilly Knights. The Pilbilly Knights are a quirky soulful Silverlake based band led by Texas born front man Todd Lowe. as his alter ego “Randy Buth.” Two of the musicians are also actors Todd Lowe who plays Terry Bellefleur, and Sam Trammell who plays Sam Merlotte on the hit HBO series “True Blood.”
The LA Hootenanny website will be up and running very shortly at www.lahootenanny.com but fans interested in catching one of The Hoot’s upcoming shows can go to their Facebook or Twitter Page.
The Hoot’s next upcoming show will be at The Federal Bar located at 5303 Lankershim Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91601. The show is going to be on October 2nd, so make sure to save the date in your calendars! If you’d like you can pre-order tickets at www.thefederalbar.com or call them at (818) 980-2555.
