“Hey everybody. I am excited to bring you this episode as it is near and dear to my heart. I just love the Dallas Cowboys, but they are a team that is hard to stay neutral over. Even though the season is off to a 2-3 start, I am optimistic.” – Cynthia Troyer

Cyn:                        Today we are in Oxnard, California at the Dallas Cowboys Training Camp. And this is something that I come to every year. And today, I have a co-star along with me – Mr. Robert Gold.

Cyn VO:            The franchise shares the record for most Super Bowl appearances at 8, with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots. And they’ve taken home the ring… five times. In 1971, 1977, 1992, 1993 and 1995.

MUSIC BREAK

Cyn VO:            Forbes Magazine placed a 4 billion dollar value on the team in 2015, making them the most valuable sports team in the world.

TITLE:            Sage Emeralds, made all these delicious beats…

TITLE :            #27 J.J. Wilcox.

Cyn VO:            The Cowboys are the only NFL team to record 20 straight winning seasons, from 1966 to 1985, in which they only missed the playoffs twice, an NFL record that remains unchallenged.

In Like Cyn Cynthia Troyer S2 E2 Dallas Cowboys pix19

Cyn:                        No, they’re the tackles, some play offense some play defense.

RG:                        There all so huge, they’re all like Chironi’s [a race of aliens in a comic book Robert Gold and I are writing called The Colony.]

Cyn:                        I see some delicious chocolate.

RG:                        I don’t know what’s going on, but there’s so much energy and power and passion. It’s overwhelming.

Cyn VO:             The Cowboys blue star logo representative of Texas as the “Lone Star State” –

Vendor:            Water, soda, candy, hot dogs!

Cyn VO:            – is one of the best known logos in professional sports. The blue star originally was a solid shape until a white line anda blue border were added in 1963. The logo has remained the same since.

Sage Emeralds MUSIC BREAK

Cyn OS:            Beasley! I fuckin’ love that guy!

Cyn VO:            And then practice was over.

Cyn VO:            On February 25, 1989, the team was purchased by current bodacious owner Jerry Jones.

Cyn VO:            So thanks for coming to Oxnard, California to watch the Cowboys practice.

Cyn:                        That was such a good time. Did you have a good time?

RG:                        Yeah, oh, yeah, I learned all about Romo and Jason. I think he probably has a last name?

Cyn:                        Witten.

RG:                        I learned all about Witten and Romo, and homos and the lo-mo, elbows and hobos.
